Providence Evening Nurse Clinician - Home Infusion Therapy *$7,500 Sign-on Bonus* in Tukwila, Washington


Providence is calling a Nurse Clinician (1.0 FTE, Evening Shift) to work in Home Infusion Therapy at Providence Infusion and Pharmacy Services in the Greater Seattle Area in Washington. This position is scheduled to work 60 hours every 2 weeks, but is still compensated and treated as a full-time employee.

$7,500 Sign-on Bonus for eligible external candidates who meet all conditions for payment - this is in addition to the fantastic benefits and compensation package offered by Providence that begin on your first day of employment.

The Evening Nurse Clinician provides direct nursing services and case management related to infusion therapy for patients in the home, clinic or alternate living site. This is accomplished through collaboration and coordination with the patient and/or caregiver, the physician, other health care providers and the payer. This position functions as a professional role model by demonstrating competency in all phases of the nursing process, collaborating with other health care workers to promote quality patient care, and acting as a resource for home care nursing staff for patients with infusion home care needs. This position acts as the primary communication link during off hours, by providing triage to patients and families.

In this position you will:

  • Participate in the development of an efficient and cost-effective nursing department:

  • Exercising principles of effective time management when scheduling patients.

  • Monitoring for effective utilization and management of patient supplies and medications.

  • Maintain and monitor care supply inventory to insure emergency supplies are available and current.

  • Assume responsibility for practicing nursing following Providence Home Infusion’s policies and procedures and the Washington State Nurse Practice Act and takes responsibility for improving one’s nursing skills and practice through:

  • Regular attendance at monthly nursing department meetings and in-services in person, via phone or link connection.

  • Identification of areas of practice needing additional training, and collaborates with nursing manager to become proficient in these areas.

  • Participation in department QI activities such as chart audits and infection control.

  • Maintain knowledge of current computer system:

  • Enter and retrieves data in current computer system.

  • Is able to utilize current scheduling program to enter new patient visits and remove patient visits as needed.

  • Evaluate and admit patients to home infusion service:

  • Inform patients/caregivers of all aspects of home infusion reviewing all admission paperwork.

  • Ensure that all reimbursement forms and consents are accurately completed at admission.

  • Assess, plan, implement and evaluate patient care needs and documents on plan of care and visit reports.

  • Evaluate and document patient/caregiver response to interventions, revising care plan as needed.

  • Provide culturally sensitive and age appropriate care to all ages of the patients served.

Required qualifications for this position include:

  • Graduate of accredited school of nursing

  • Current Washington State Registered Nursing License

  • Current Washington State Driver's license

  • Automobile Insurance

  • Current CPR certification

  • 2 years of Critical Care, Oncology or Home Infusion experience

Preferred qualifications for this position include:

  • Membership in a professional organization in IV specialty or related field
