Providence is calling a Manager Nursing ( Long Term Care , Day Shift, 1.0 FTE) to Providence Mt St Vincent in Seattle, Washington. In this position you will:

  • Selects, hires and oversees the nursing unit licensed staff, nursing assistants and other team members on 24 hour basis with assistance from Nursing Administration, Human Resources and Operations.

  • Oversees staffing budgets, licensure requirements and quality management programs.

  • Demonstrates clinical expertise in execution of nursing process and directing staff in its application.

  • Develops work schedules, works with others to solve participant/resident/patient client problems, initiates and follow-up on staff development, conducts performance evaluations and recommends corrective action when necessary.

  • Coordinates and communicates admissions, transfers and assists in planning and discharge as needed.

  • Participates in surveys, compliance and Continous Quality Improvement processes to meet regulatory and licensing requirements.

  • Participates in care conferences, team meetings and consultations with providers and other committees.

  • Acts as a liaison between participant/resident/patient/client, family/guardian, physicians, RN’s, Nurse Manager and Administration as needed or delegated.


Required qualifications for this position include:

  • Education sufficient for licensure

  • 2 years as an RN in LTC, Transitional Care Unit, or comparable setting.

  • Knowledge of current trends in geriatric nursing

  • Proficiency in technology required for job performance

  • Current Washington State License as a Registered Nurse

  • Current CPR certification or must obtain within 30 days of hire.

  • Food handler's permit within 14 days of hire.

Preferred qualifications for this position include:

  • Supervisory experience with certified nursing assistants and licensed nurses

  • Masters Degree in Nursing

  • Advanced certification in Minimum Data Set/Resident Assessment Instrument (MDS/RAI) process/completion by the American Association of Post-Acute Nursing preferred.
