Providence Intermediate Care Unit North is a recently renovated 12 bed adult Intermediate Care Unit with all private rooms. All of the rooms on ICF are outfitted with the latest bedside physiological equipment to provide continuous monitoring. Description:
We are seeking a Registered Nurse (RN) - ICF North Unit that will be accountable for direct and indirect quality care for resident, according to the individualized needs of the resident, following the nursing process and in accordance with the Nurse Practice Act. Accepts professional development as an integral part of nursing practice. Coordinates resident care activities with other members of the health care team, and supervises the nursing care given.
In this position you will have the following responsibilities:
Provide comprehensive resident assessment
Assess residents response to interventions including medications, therapies, and nutritional support
Implement an individualized plan of care utilizing good nursing practices and demonstrating the ability to prioritize and organize work
Administer medications and treatments per physicians orders
Carry out and documents the steps in the nursing process
Update documentation as indicated by changes in resident condition
Communicate plan of care and changes to Nursing staff and other disciplines
Instruct other Nursing staff, residents, and family members in resident care
Safeguard resident rights as listed in the Residents Bill of Rights
Supervise, orient, and evaluate CNAs, CMAs, and RAs and replaces staff in absence of Nursing Administration
Complete documentation including, but not limited to: medication sheets, progress notes, physician's orders, incident reports, resident care conference summaries, and care plans
Inform or consult with Director of Nursing Services, Therapist, Chaplains, Physicians, Social Service Director, Activity Director, Clinical Specialists, and PBNC Administration
Implement, teach, and reinforce use of Standard Precautions and infection control procedures
Ability to work in both inside and outside environmental conditions
Be possibly exposed to bloodborne pathogens
Required qualifications:
Graduated from an accredited school of Nursing
Licensed to practice nursing in the state of Oregon as a Registered Nurse
Current American Heart Association-Basic Life Support (AHA-BLS) or Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) certification
Preferred qualifications for this position include:
- One (1) year experience in long term care
