Patient Care Tech - Nursing Float Pool at Providence Portland Medical Center

Providence currently has Day shift and Night shift positions available working a 0.9 FTE (3, 12 hour shifts per week). There may be some opportunities for part time positions in the future.

*Day Shift Hours: 7am - 7:30pm*

*Night Shift Hours: 7pm - 7:30am*

This position requires no experience, and is a great way to get your 'foot in the door.' In this position you will gain valuable patient care experience within a hospital environment. Providence will help you grow your career as a CNA1 or CNA2. We will offer assistance with enrollment and cost of either program! More information will be shared at time of interview.

$4,000 hiring bonus for eligible external hires that meet required qualifications and conditions for payment.

Under direct supervision this position is accountable to the bedside RN and charge nurse to facilitate a safe and secure environment for the patient, family and providers in the department in completion of the duties assigned to them for the shift and maintaining clear communication between the needs of the patient through the RN and Charge Nurse. These activities focus on maintaining a safe, hazard free, clean environment which facilitates patient focused care.

Preferred qualifications:

  • Coursework/Training: Medical Terminology Course -OR- Successful completion of hospital Medical terminology test within ninety (90) days of hire

  • Basic Life Support (BLS) (American Heart Association) certified

  • Successful completion within ninety (90) days of hire

  • Six (6) months of Health care experience

  • Effective interpersonal skills

  • Demonstrated customer service skills
