Cardiac Sonographer - Echocardiology at Providence Willamette Falls Medical Center
Perform cardiac ultrasound examinations according to physician's orders, utilizing a variety of complex ultrasound equipment. Objectively identifies the presence of or absence of disease utilizing a thorough knowledge of anatomy and physiology. Assists physicians with more invasive echocardiography examinations including, but not limited to, Transesophageal echocardiography, Trans-catheter echo guided procedures (location specific), pericardiocentesis, echo guided myocardial biopsies (location specific), contrast enhanced exams, exercise and pharmacological stress echocardiography. Has the ability to modify procedures, to meet special circumstances and/or provide clinically useful information on a cost-effective basis. Will comply with the standards set forth by the American Society of Echocardiography and departmental policies and procedures.
This position requires shared coverage for stand by and call back emergency studies in the evenings and weekends. This may include shared regional coverage to other Portland facilities and or rotation through staffed weekend shifts.
Associate of Applied Science (A.A.S.) degree in Noninvasive Cardiovascular Technology or Diagnostic Medical sonography
Registered Non-invasive Cardiovascular Ultrasound Technologist (RCS or RDCS) -or- registry-eligible
Maintenance of certification and professional expertise with continuing education
Appropriate state licensure
Current cardiopulmonary resuscitation (CPR) certification
Driver’s license and dependable transportation
Associate of Applied Science (A.A.S.) degree in Noninvasive Cardiovascular Technology or Diagnostic Medical sonography from Commission on Accreditation of Allied Health Education (CAAHE) accredited school
1 year of experience performing cardiovascular ultrasound examinations -or- 800 exams using all imaging modalities available
Pediatric echocardiography experience.
Familiarity with imaging support of advanced heart failure patients
Experience with echo guided trans-catheter procedures.
