Providence is calling a Registered Nurse (RN)/Charge Nurse (Long Term Care, Nights, 0.6 FTE) to Providence Mother Joseph Care Center in Olympia, Washington. In this position you will:
Maintain shift accountability and decision-making for participants/residents/patients/clients care outcomes. Coordinates new admissions and in-house transfers.
Administer participants/residents/patients/clients care based on the nursing process and the interdisciplinary care plan. Ensures that nursing care and other activity functions are properly documented by the Primary Care Nurses.
Plan, direct, supervise, evaluate, and assist in the nursing care of participants/residents/patients/clients. Demonstrates clinical expertise in the execution of the nursing process and directs staff in its application. Participate in admission, transfer, and discharge processes.
Contribute to the total plan of care for the participants/residents/patients/clients by making pertinent nursing observations and participating in multidisciplinary team care conference as needed.
Maintain regular and ongoing communications with family members, nursing staff, interdisciplinary team members and others to ensure 24-hour continuity of care and unified approach by the team for each participants/residents/patients/clients
Required qualifications for this position include:
Graduate of an accredited school of nursing
Current Registered Nurse (RN) licensure in Washington State
Current Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation (CPR) certficiation or must obtain within 30 days of hire
At least 3 years of nursing experience as staff nurse in acute and/or sub-acute care or previous charge nurse experience or 2 years relevant leadership experience

Our Transitional Care Unit is designed for patients coming out of the hospital who need skilled nursing care, end of life care, or rehabilitation for those recovering from surgery or who have a functional loss from illness, disease, or an accident. Our Long Term Care unit provides skilled nursing in a residential setting, addressing the needs of our residents through creating a sense of community and home in “neighborhoods” and providing a model of care that is resident-centered.
