We are seeking an Office Assistant - Home Health Services who will be under the direction of the Home Health Director, is accountable for reception, processing physician orders, accurately ensuring the agency meets national and state regulations with physician signatures, requesting IS support and maintaining the computerized record of home health equipment used by employees, including performing computer support, recording and tracking home health employee personal record requirements as directed by the Home Health Director, maintains good intercommunication in the office and promotes smooth communications with other departments and staff
In this position you will have the following responsibilities:
Answer telephone, maintaining courteous manner and transfers calls or takes messages appropriately; calls Clinical Professionals appropriately regarding patient care questions or concerns.
Support the home health program in Allscripts working closely with the Home Health Nurse Manager of Computer systems and maintaining the IS recording system of laptops, mifi, and other field devices. Performs basic orientation to new employees regarding the field documentation system used and the functions of the laptop.
Greet, direct, and give nonprofessional factual information to patients, visitors, and personnel from other departments using service excellence techniques and following HIPPA guidelines.
Promote positive communication with field home health staff, patients, physicians, and other hospital personnel. Communicate all messages to appropriate staff. Promote a positive attitude towards work environment, supporting change and facilitating constructive resolutions to conflict incurred in the work environment
Faxes physician orders, plans of treatment, and conditions of admission for physician's signature. Maintains and monitors tracking system for timely return following state and federal regulations
Follow medical records procedures for returned signed physician orders, making sure that physician's orders returned with additions have been addressed by the Clinical Supervisor
Maintain and monitor daily fax, copier, and printer. Troubleshoot problems with copier and fax machine and handles maintenance calls appropriately
Obtain mail, prepare invoices for Director's signature; maintain files for invoices, and assists with mailing invoices and working with purchasing
Perform PowerPoint presentations and assists Director and Supervisors with preparing of field staff meetings, and preparing newsletter for further staff communication
Responsible for end of day closing/lock up the office as well as maintaining office cleanliness. Assists in maintaining cleanliness, orderliness, and safety of the office. Keeps bulletin boards in order
Preferred qualifications for this position includes:
College Degree in Business.
Coursework/Training - Course in computers or programs.
Experience as a receptionist with medical office background.
